Get a taste of Security Studies Terrorism, cybercrime, natural disasters and other issues affect the security and safety of millions of people every day. In the bachelor’s programme Security Studies, you will learn to understand these security challenges by looking at the political, historical, and social context in which they appear. You will also explore how governments, institutions, and the media influence responses to these issues. This programme helps you develop an academic perspective and the skills to think critically about complex security problems. Curious to find out if this programme is right for you? You will attend a lecture and a skills lab, meet students and lecturers, and experience what it is like to study at Leiden University in The Hague.
